die to live
live to breathe
breathe to feel
feel to know
know to see
see to learn
learn to understand
understand to move
move to die
die to live
do not accept that you are to live as you do now. man only moves forward through death, be it physical or metaphorical. it is how we change, how we progress. when one ceases to continue the process, they become stagnant in life. when this becomes the norm, they do not die, but rather they fade. to fade is to accept your life as it is, and do nothing to push yourself to new heights. it is to take the status quo as irreversible and curse yourself to mediocrity. it is anathema.
if you wish to escape, realize that death is what it takes. not physical death, but death to your life as it is and your mediocrity. death to all the things holding you back from what you can truly become. death to the strings, to the chains, to the bars and walls that hold you.
death to yourself.
if you are not willing to do that, then continue to fade. if you are not willing to risk everything at some point in your life, you will not progress. it will take more than patience, more than determination, more than luck.
it will take God Himself.
make your move, as no one else can. your friends, your sons and daughters, your spouse, your brothers and sisters, mother and father, can do nothing if you do not start it yourself. they can encourage, and even help, but they cannot die in your place. that is in your hands alone. make yourself great.

Remembrance [Fallen Soldiers]
to the flags of our fathers
to the lives lived in truth
their sacrificed, their open hearts
their victories and their youth.
for the unsung heroes
for the giving of strength
to the lives of our elders
to the lives that they gave
forgotten all their hopes and dreams
forgotten all their fights and wars
in unseen lands, with sights uknown
in unseen hearts, with darkness sown
remember the fallen
remember the strong
remember the weak
or remember them none
the heroes of yesterday
sit alone in their beds
the heroes of old
lie down in the sand
to the heroes of then
to the captives of time
to the dead friends gone
to the ones still alive
i thank you for your gift
i thank you for your grace
i wish you naught but strength
and God's sweet gift of peace
to the lives lived in truth
their sacrificed, their open hearts
their victories and their youth.

Excerpt
In a world with no heroes, what would the point be? This world is made up of many things, much too numerous to be named in one sitting. However, they should be discussed and thought on, and put into practice. As for now, Hero.
A hero gives his life to, or lives his life for, an honorable task. This task or ideal does not have to be a grand, drawn out quest like so many think. Once this is understood, it can also be understood that anyone can be a hero, be it father or mother or child or elder. Even someone as small and easily swayed as I can be one.
Important to realize is the concept to understand that, very rarely, does a hero actually think of him or herself as such. Rather, the person simply does what they know to be right and true when the situation arises. There is no self-glorification, and little or no more accepted praise than is required without being rude.
Those who accept such praise, and continue to flaunt such things, quickly lose status as heroes. This status can be reclaimed though, through true understanding and turning back to what is right and just without the purpose of self-aggrandizement.
Heroes can be healers, helpers, listeners, and warriors. There is all manner of beast and demon in this world to fight. Be it physical or spiritual, emotional or mental. Heroes are sometimes born, sometimes made, and sometimes unknown.
The irrevocable truth, however, is that all are needed, all are important, and all do what they can to better the world and people around them.

God
because throughout all the pain i've seen and felt, and all the good things i've witnessed
all the places i've been
all the battles i've won and lost
all i've known and felt and seen and heard
there's not a way for me not to believe
there's not a way for me to say that God isn't there
or that he doesn't care
i've witnessed horrible acts, and seen ppl get away with it
i've also seen the victims make sure that it didn't happen to many others
i've seen liars, cheaters, sadists, masochists, and ppl that make other's lives miserable
i've also seen children help the elderly, ppl impart knowledge at great risk to themselves, and people help others regardless of the cost
we've been so inundated with only the horrible things in this world
that no one takes notice of all the good and complexity in the world
I believe.

Silence
no fragrance to smell.
no emotion to break.
no tear to cry.
no sound to hear.
no voice to speak.
no cry to moan.
no air to breathe.
no eyes to see.
no heart to feel.
and yet...not giving up...
and yet...going forth anyway...
still fighting...
still hoping...
still yearning...
still growing...
still praying...
still singing...
still laughing...
still caring...
still living.
no emotion to break.
no tear to cry.
